Space Academy
Ages 9–11Think like a scientist. Design like an engineer. Investigate the forces, technologies, and discoveries that make space exploration possible.
Ask bold questions. Test big ideas.
Space Academy takes young learners deeper into astronomy through scientific investigations, engineering challenges, and mission-inspired problem-solving. Children connect what they discover about space with the mathematics, physics, and technology that help us explore it.
What will we investigate?
An astronomy-centered introduction to the science and engineering behind real space missions.
Forces and Space Science
Investigate gravity, motion, orbits, light, and the physical principles that shape our Solar System and beyond.
Rockets and Engineering
Explore how rockets work, why designs matter, and how engineers test solutions to spaceflight challenges.
Robotic Space Missions
Discover how rovers, sensors, and mission instructions allow scientists to explore distant worlds and gather evidence.
Investigate, design, test, improve.
Through astronomy-based investigations and mission challenges, Space Academy helps children connect classroom STEM concepts with practical scientific and engineering thinking.
- Apply mathematical reasoning: Use measurement, scale, ratios, graphs, and simple calculations to explore distances, motion, and spacecraft design.
- Investigate physics through astronomy: Explore forces, gravity, light, and energy by making predictions and testing ideas with models and experiments.
- Think like an engineer: Design, build, test, and improve solutions to rocket, landing, and space-exploration challenges.
- Understand robotics and technology: Examine how rovers, sensors, and instruments collect information, and how engineering choices affect mission outcomes.
- Develop computational thinking: Break complex missions into steps, recognize patterns, and use logical sequences that build foundations for programming and robotics.
- Analyze evidence and collaborate: Record observations, interpret results, explain decisions, and work as a team to solve scientific challenges.
What children take away
Stronger STEM connections
See how mathematics and physics help explain real astronomical phenomena and engineering decisions.
An engineering mindset
Practice experimenting, learning from results, and refining solutions rather than expecting a perfect first attempt.
Independent and team thinking
Build confidence in asking questions, reasoning with evidence, and communicating discoveries.
The suggested age range is a guideline, not a strict requirement. Your child's interests, familiarity with astronomy, previous experience, and readiness are also important when choosing a program.

Planet Explorers invites curious children to discover the planets, moons, and extraordinary environments of our Solar System. Through engaging experiments, models, and imaginative missions, young learners begin to investigate how these distant worlds work.
What will we explore?
An exciting introduction to planetary science, with opportunities to compare, question, and investigate.
Our Solar System
Meet the planets, explore their order around the Sun, and discover how rocky worlds and giant planets differ.
Planets and Moons
Compare planetary features, investigate moons, and explore what makes Earth special among its neighbors.
Exploring Other Worlds
Discover how spacecraft, rovers, and scientific instruments help us learn about places we cannot easily visit.
Explore, experiment, think, discover.
Through astronomy investigations and hands-on activities, Planet Explorers helps children strengthen foundational STEM skills while practicing how to ask questions, solve problems, and think scientifically.
- Build mathematical thinking: Compare planetary sizes and distances, recognize patterns, and practice measurement using Solar System models.
- Develop scientific reasoning: Make predictions, test ideas through simple experiments, and discuss observations using evidence.
- Strengthen problem-solving: Work through space-themed challenges that encourage logic, creativity, and persistence.
- Explore engineering and technology: Build models and investigate how spacecraft and robotic explorers help us study other worlds.
- Practice computational thinking: Follow sequences, identify patterns, and solve step-by-step mission challenges that introduce ideas useful in coding and robotics.
- Communicate and collaborate: Share findings, explain ideas, and work with others on astronomy missions.
